G & B Wedding

When Greta reached out to me back in March asking if I would be her and Bryan (her soon to be husband) wedding day coordinator, I was SO excited. Greta and Bryan are genuinely some of the most kind hearted people I’ve met! They have the sweetest little girl, Harlynn, who recently turned one year old.

Coming up closer to the wedding day, Greta and I would stay in contact via calls and texts about various aspects of her wedding day— because there was a LOT of different details! We solidified her wedding day ideas and dreams; I just had to now make it become a reality!

The morning!

I had two jobs for Greta and Bryan’s wedding: I was their wedding coordinator, and I was also in charge of providing their appetizers, which was a grazing table. My morning started at about 6am to get their grazing table prepped and ready to go! I left for their wedding venue at around 11am, where Greta and her girls were getting ready!

Arrival and check in!

When I first arrived, I checked in with Greta and Teckla, her mother, and then quickly went out to the ceremony and reception area to get decorations started! I met with Stacey who was a friend of the family’s and was so willing to help, and then we got started on table decor. It. was. stunning.

Set up beforehand

We moved onto the head tables, cards & gifts table, bar area, caterer tables, photo booth area, kids table, kids bounce house, signage, balloon artist table, guestbook table, dessert table, cleared where the mechanical bull would be, and then the grazing table. My assistant Grace had arrived at this point, so Stacey, Grace and I worked efficiently to ensure that EVERYTHING was done and ready to go by ceremony time. I had to kick Teckla back inside a couple of times so that she could enjoy the day with Greta instead of helping us work! It’s a big day for mamas too, you know! ;)

Ceremony time!

When I went to get Bryan and all the wedding party lined up, I reminded Bryan to read his personal vows slowly, something that Greta had asked me to do! He laughed, took a deep breath, and then headed on down the aisle, with his parents, Lisa and Edwin, on either side of him. One by one, the wedding party made their way down the aisle as well. Then it was time for Greta and her father, Zac, to come the gate to begin walking down as well. Greta and Bryan opted to have their first look as Greta walked down the aisle. They wanted that moment to be the first time they saw each other in their wedding day outfits! There was some tears shed, but also so many smiles and laughs. Both the bride and groom wrote their own vows. You could feel their love for each other bleed through their words! It was so so beautiful.

Cocktail Hour!

After the ceremony, we had to clear chairs and get the tables set in place for the reception. After a little mishap with table numbers being in the wrong places that we quickly fixed, cocktail hour started! People grabbed drinks from the bartenders at the new bar Zac had built JUST for the wedding, and emptied the entire grazing table! They talked, and laughed and waited for Greta and Bryan to make their entrance.

Grand Entrance!

And then it happened! The wedding party came dancing in to the song “Congratulations” by Post Malone, and Bryan, the DJ from bamjamevents, announced “the Limas” for the first time ever. It was awesome. Greta and Bryan went to sit at their head table and we started on dinner.

Whoever knows best…

Greta and Bryan had the fun idea of playing “trivia” for releasing tables. They compiled a list of questions about their relationship history and whoever answered the question correctly and quickly would get dismissed to get their food. The caterer was El Taquero and was SUCH good Mexican food. Delish!

Toasts <3

While people were finishing up their dinners, we had the pleasure of hearing toasts from the Maid of Honor, the groom’s brother, and both Greta and Bryan’s dads. The toasts were full of love, laughter and sweet memories that each of the speakers had with the couple! It was very sweet.

Let us eat cake!

After the toasts, Greta and Bryan went ahead and cut into their wedding cake. There was no messy smashing of the cake into faces, BUT they did feed each other little bites, which was very sweet. The cake was made by Sarah Lane, a local baker and the couple reported that the cake was very yummy and I can report that the cupcakes were yummy lol!

Dance Time!

After the cake cutting/dessert time, Greta and Bryan did their first dance to Ed Sheeran and Beyonce’s “Perfect Duet” (which is like, one of the most romantic songs to ever be sung). It was so intimate and beautiful and the couple had the biggest smiles on their face the entire time. It was genuinely so sweet. After their dance was done, Greta had a father daughter dance with her dad, Zack, and Bryan followed with a mother son dance with his mom, Lisa. It was so sweet and so many happy tears were shed!

Party rockers in the house tonight!

After first dances, everybody went into party mode! It was so fun. There was so much dancing and laughter. The mechanical bull was an absolute hit, although there was a bloody nose from a bad tumble lol. It made for a good photo op haha! People were having SO much fun. It was so great to see!

Fun surprise before the end of the night

Now, a surprise that Greta had told me about from the beginning of our meetings was that she was going to have a special dance time with her mom. Teckla is the sweetest and is very close with her daughters so it was suitable to have a special moment of recognition for such an important woman in Greta’s life! There wasn’t a dry eye in the place!

Grand Exit

At the end of the night, after dancing, everybody lined up to give a beautiful bubble send off to the new couple! It was such a fun end to SUCH a beautiful wedding!

Greta and Bryan’s wedding was overall such a wonderful day. I was so so honored that I was able to be apart it!!!
